§ 8-3. Creation of boards or commissions.

  • (a)

    Article 305 of the Los Alamos County Charter states that the county council may create boards or commissions to advise the council, the county manager, or department heads, to hear appeals concerning any county operations, or to make investigations or reports the council may designate. No board or commission created by the council shall have any authority except as granted by the council.

    (b)

    All standing boards or commissions not otherwise created by the county Charter or state law shall be created by ordinance.
