§ 32-9. Burning, burying or disposal of solid waste in areas other than approved and/or permitted solid waste facilities.

  • No person shall burn, bury or dispose of any solid waste on their premises except that:

    (1)

    Incinerators located on the premises may be approved by the county manager if the incinerators are permitted by the regulating agencies. Such approval from the county manager shall be evidenced by a permit issued by the county and will require the requester to provide:

    a.

    Permits from the regulating agencies;

    b.

    Proof that an ash disposal site has been identified and approved by the regulating agencies.

    (2)

    Solid waste may not be burned unless specifically permitted by this chapter or the county manager and nothing in this chapter shall be construed to:

    a.

    Prohibit the disposal of solid waste by the normal or usual use of garbage disposal units or sanitary sewer facilities;

    b.

    Prohibit the normal use of fireplaces; or

    c.

    Prohibit composting when done in compliance with other sections of these regulations.
