§ 32-16. Scavengers and scavenging.

  • (a)

    Scavenging refers to the collection or removal of solid waste materials from the active disposal area of the solid waste facility. No person shall scavenge at the county solid waste facility.

    (b)

    Solid waste deposited in the county-operated solid waste facility is county property.

    (c)

    No person shall remove, collect or retrieve solid waste from any area of the solid waste facility unless specifically authorized to do so by the county manager. Any such activities shall comply with SWMR.

    (d)

    The public may have access to areas which are away from the active disposal area that are designated by the solid waste manager for the purposes of removing or depositing recyclable or reusable products.
