§ 16-82. Responsibilities of community development director.

The community development director shall be responsible for enforcing the provisions of this chapter except where the provisions of this chapter clearly designate enforcement authority to the county engineer or other designated official. If the community development director finds that any of the provisions of this chapter are being violated, he shall notify in writing the person responsible for such violation indicating the nature of the violation and ordering the action necessary to correct it. He shall be authorized to order discontinuance of illegal uses of lands, buildings or structures, removal of illegal buildings or structures or the additions, alterations or structural changes thereto; discontinuance of any illegal work being done; or shall take other actions authorized by this chapter to ensure compliance with or to prevent violation of its provision.
