§ 14-172. Designated lands to remain as parks or other public facilities.
The public lands referred to in section 14-171 shall be retained for parks, recreation or other public facilities in their present designation unless removed from inclusion in the special land preservation status by ordinance. An ordinance to remove public lands from the special land preservation status shall be heard by the council only after 90 days has elapsed from the date on which the ordinance was introduced. Furthermore, during the 90-day period at least one public meeting shall be conducted by the planning and zoning commission to receive comments from the public about removal of the public lands from the special land preservation status.
